As the title of my blog indicates....just write! One of the most important things about writing in the classroom is just to get your students writing. Provide them many opportunities to write daily to create a true love of writing in your students. What is one activity that you use to encourage writing in your class?

I use email, and my kids LOVE it!
I have my students write notes to me in the Bear Books.
I know most of us use the Question of the Day with Harcourt. I think it is meaningful to them when they can talk to a partner about it or share. We also use e-mail in my class (thanks to Mrs. Dunston). This week, our vocabulary and main selection focused on ways to communicate. When I asked my students about different ways we communicate, they always responded with "e-mail" and cell phones/text messages first (imagine that)!
My students respond daily in their BEAR books. Informally they write notes and drop them in my mailbox. Weekly they respond on the BLOG and/or Wiki depending on what we are doing.
